The BALLY Spring / Summer 2025 collection “Counterpoint 3” by creative director Simone Bellotti deviates from the poetic minimalism of its fall collection with a playful, new, experimental line of pieces. Heavily inspired by the Dadaist art movement of the early 20th century, decorum and rigor are subverted by avant-garde designs, provoking creations imprinted with both fragility and desire.

Best defined by features such as its dramatic rounded sleeves, petal-like folds of ruffled peplum, and scrunched and molded drapery, the sculptural tailoring of BALLY’s Spring/Summer collection presents common silhouettes in a reimagined context; adopting the same principles of the readymades of Dadaist artists.

Codes are questioned in a Dadaist approach to dressing – abrasive leather pieces and office style blazers engaging in a delicate dance with natural elements such as faded rose prints and gossamer dresses reminiscent of spring mountain flora.

Strong foundations set by previous lines of BALLY footwear and handbags are added onto as well, with appearances from a new Glendale which rises on a slim pedestal heel, platform T-strap sandals edged in fine metalwork, and lace-up Scribes elevated on a block heel. An oversized Beckett satchel appears in glossy leathers, as trapeze and bell-shaped doctor’s bags pop in the season’s alpine floral palette with topstitched details.

The Dadaist spirit of the BALLY Spring / Summer 2025 collection was elevated by the 16th century cloisters of the Chiostro di San Simpliciano that the collection strutted past in Milan, and a bespoke soundtrack created by Swiss recording artist Aisha Devi, making for an immersive runway experience which can be revisited in the collectible BALLY Zine Number 2.
