‍Cody Belew is a talented American singer and songwriter who first caught the public's attention with his appearance on the third season of the hit reality TV show "The Voice" in 2012. With his soulful voice and captivating performances, Belew quickly became a fan favorite, wowing audiences with his renditions of classic songs like "Jolene" and "One More Try". Since his time on the show, Belew has continued to make music, carving out a unique sound that blends elements of pop, rock, and country.  With his talent and dedication to his craft, it's no wonder that Cody Belew has amassed a loyal following of fans who appreciate his authenticity and passion for music.

But that’s enough introductions. If you feel ready to jump into Cody’s offering, I believe that his newest track “I Did It For Love” has luxurious thrills to offer you. The hard-rocking single is the titular track leading the charge for his debut album that’s due for release in early 2024.

Belew’s sound will definitely scratch a whole plethora of rock & roll itches for one and all. His vocals are powerful -as many already know- but he chose an understated and outright seductive style for this one that lends him a lot of credibility and depth-he knows how to be a show-off without actually “showing off”-. The vocal performance in this song is all in the way he swaggers around with each phrase, he’s 100% talent but also 100% attitude as well, a dangerous and thrilling mix of Mick Jagger, Freddy Mercury, Rod Stewart (and even Rob Halford) that he achieves somehow in spite of not even sounding like any of them. It must be a spiritual thing.

In the Music department, some of Cody’s country influences shine through for sure in this song. The fat bass lines and the rowdy guitar riffs have an outlaw vibe to them that aligns well with something slightly rockabilly and slightly post-punk, or if you took The Gun Club, The Rolling Stones, the Meteors and sprinkled some Lady Gaga onto them for good measure. Thoroughly impressive and delightfully original.

Cody Belew started off 2023 with a bang as a member of CMT's prestigious "Listen Up" program. This program has previously featured successful artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, and Maren Morris. His powerful vocals, skillful songwriting, and captivating stage presence have all contributed to his growing popularity. Cody is currently working on his highly anticipated debut album, which will showcase his love for Southern music while also incorporating his passion for activism.
