As Fendi dawns on its 100th anniversary, the SS25 Fendi Men’s show serves as a time capsule embedded with nostalgia and echoes of mirroring decades through contemporary pieces. Silvia Venturini Fendi, Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, looks for inspiration inward, paying homage to the brand’s rich house codes that predate the first men’s collection in 1990.
Reinvented for today’s destination of modern luxury and contemporary masculinity, the collection’s pieces are infused with fresh expressions of heritage and classic silhouettes. Think of the playful exploration of sports and ceremony, deconstructed to add a futuristic touch to the otherwise nostalgic theme. A mineral pallet of sherbert and mist, ivory, caramel, and buttermilk intertwine with soft blues, natural indigo, black, and forest green. Amid it all, a new house crest is proudly displayed, marking the turn of a new century and the ongoing commitment to evolution.
At a closer look, the expansive collection features the virtuosity of the century-old Selleria stitch– a technique inherited by the Fendi family from a Roman family of master saddlers. The house’s signature stitching is re-interpreted as a monogram, threaded as a stripe or tonal FF logo through linen, denim, and plush textures. Contoured elements blending old and new twist the concord of the garments. Sleeves slashed at the elbow can be worn long or short, and asymmetric silk knits unfasten to reveal an airy segmented shoulder.
The themes mentioned above are recited in the Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 Accessories collection. The obsession with the Selleria continues, from the Peekaboo ISeeU Soft bag to the FENDI Force sneakers, whipstitch details underscore the brand’s movement into the next century. The entire display ensures a pleasant remembrance of the staples that define Fendi while accentuating the smooth transition into the next generation of Italian craftsmanship.
