As we cheers and chat the form and function of an exquisitely designed bar begins to reveal itself. The World’s 50 Best Bars, which shines a light on the top watering holes around the globe, announces the launch of “Bareksten Best Bar Design Award,” a new accolade that salutes the very best in bar design. This is the global organization’s first foray into the world of design and will be judged by a formidable panel of cocktail and design experts including, Alia Akkam, Anirudh Singhal, Bethan Ryder, Paul Semple, Scott Baird, and Shaun Clarkson. The competition is open to all bars and each entry will be judged on six key pillars, including innovation, aesthetics, accessibility, ergonomics, ecological compatibility and emotional quotient. The winning bar will be crowned on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023 at The World’s 50 Best Bars’ awards ceremony in Singapore.
