Bathe in the perfection of Saint Laurent’s Winter 2024 menswear collection, soaking in the dusty pale nudes, greens and violets that float down the runway. The brand’s new line built on elements of their previous collections, pairing archival designs with contemporary looks.
To open the show, the classic double breasted suit tied to the shoulder padded, big hair, boombox era of the 1980s. The emblematic suited look is followed by fluid tailoring that creates an illusion of fabric turning to liquid in various pieces. Finally, a black leather hat connected to a structured rubber peacoat that recreates the iconicity of the 1960s is paired with loose trousers to create a revival piece grounded in the history of Saint Laurent.
The winter collection was shared at Paris’ Bourse de Commerce, a concrete rotunda that allows viewers to soak in its natural light and subtle scent of history. The black carpeting and dark blooms of calla lilies, anemones and orchids were nods to Yves Saint Laurent and its long history of highly regarded work.
