Saint Laurent designer Anthony Vaccarello collaborated with photographer and director Glen Luchford to produce a series of images and a short film displaying YSL’s Winter 2024 Collection.
Luchford was heavily influenced by artistic masters including Michelangelo, Caravaggio, and Édouard Manet. Contours of the bare male body, lavish interior design, sunlit jewel tones, and lush exterior scenery combine to create imagery fit for the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
Modernity meets the Renaissance as the campaign’s classicism infuses with unabashed sensuality and a sense of boyish playfulness, channeling contemporary directors such as Luchino Visconti and Pier Paolo Pasolini.
Addressing the historical controversy surrounding evocative artwork and film, the campaign explores desire and visual aesthetics, conceptualizing Vaccarello's vision of the present and future of fashion.
