The Macallan has many things to celebrate; it's widely considered to be the producer of some of the finest scotch whiskey in the world, it enjoys both a stunning reputation and a rich history, and it has dug its roots firmly into the soil of the luxury world. This year, it have one more thing to honor—its 200th birthday. For the single malt Scotch maker's birthday gift, it's opened the doors of the sweeping Los Angeles property aptly christened the Macallan Villa. 

From the minimalist villa’s perch on a Bel Air mountain top, guests can take in views of the city sprawling out to the glittering ocean in the distance. True to its location, the space thrives on exclusivity and luxuriousness. Guests of the invitation-only property are now able to enjoy 8,500 square feet of laidback modern architecture melding with the vibrant natural landscapes that characterize Los Angeles’ hills and most coveted neighborhoods. It’s all creamy white walls running in curves and crawling with vines, al fresco dining areas planted on green lawns, and accents of that recognizable Macallan red splashed on a pillow here and a floral arrangement there. There’s a rooftop terrace of course, and a sleek swimming pool branded with The Macallan’s red “M” logo—for what self-respecting villa would be complete without those? 

Now open by appointment only, private clients, strategic partners, content creators, The Macallan Society members, and friends and family of the brand will experience a unique and opulent series of events. They’ll be treated to a tea service followed by a journey through the history of The Macallan as they’re served a menu curated by chef Chris Sayegh. Inside, there’s a fully stocked bar that’ll dish out six new exclusive cocktails that celebrate the pairing of The Macallan’s Scottish heritage and their new Californian home.
