Today marks the 50th anniversary of the illustrious collaboration between Tiffany & Co. and beloved designer Elsa Peretti. Celebrating the longevity of their partnership, Tiffany & Co. releases the Elsa Peretti Bone and Split rings, drawing inspiration from the company’s Bone cuff design introduced in 1970.
An Italian model-turned-designer, Peretti was a source of inspiration for renowned American fashion designers, but her real achievement lies in her career as a jewelry designer and influential taste-maker. Her first Tiffany’s collection sold out in a single day, and she has since created numerous iconic designs including the Bottle, Open Heart, Bean, and, of course, Bone cuffs.
The visual form of the Bone cuff imitates the 17th-century Capuchin crypt in Rome and Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Mila in Barcelona, historic sites Peretti visited during her childhood. The ring embodies the beauty of the natural world as well as the rich contours intertwined with the human body. Peretti shares, “I have always been interested in the mechanics and its feel: every jewelry piece should be captivating and comfortable to wear.”
Offered in 18k yellow gold and sterling silver in both designs, the Split ring is versatile, intended to be worn with the split facing up or down, while the Bone ring can fit comfortably on the finger or knuckle.
The Elsa Peretti Bone ring is now exclusively available at Tiffany.com. The Split ring is available as a regional first in Europe and the Middle East in Tiffany & Co. stores and websites. The new rings will be available globally in Tiffany & Co. stores and Tiffany.com as of July 1st.
