[Akil Henley](https://www.instagram.com/traveldronelife/) He is an aerial photographer and influencer from NYC, the Bronx with Caribbean roots. He developed an interest in arts and learned music at a young age, which pushed his interests to learn more about photography.
He has been in the photography field for the last six years and has risen to become a multifaceted photographer who has mastered the art of drone photography. He has gained considerable experience that makes him stand out due to his unique creativity in taking aerial photographs.
Akil Henley has always admired nature and loves the unique perspective of how things look from the sky. Akil says, “From my first-time experience flying a drone, I knew that there was another way of viewing life.”
Henley loves to showcase his photography and aerial photography skills. There are many famous photographers in the world, but he wants to utilize his drone photography skills to bring life to objects and places that people only see from one perspective or vantage point. He notes that seeing a sandy beach and water hitting your feet is different from a 100 feet aerial view and how the ground forms a shape that can only be seen from above.
Through his creative and exceptional aerial photography, Akil has traversed over 46 countries around the world with the exception of Antarctica. He has captured fascinating topographies, landmarks, and oceans and shares some of the images on his Instagram account. This has led to tremendous growth from only a couple of followers to over 20K followers today.
Some of the overwhelming milestones from his unique photography skills include the Eiffel tower page, which reposted a photograph he took during a large protest. The photo had a great impact that saw even the local Parisian periodicals reach out to him seeking to use the same image in their publications. Another outstanding milestone was when Elizabeth Sutton, a famous NYC artist, was so impressed by his photos and extended a hand to Akil to take photographs of one of the artworks on Roosevelt Island.
Apart from aerial photography, Akil is also the developer of a unique Apple store app, the [nfluence](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nfluencer/id1495283095)r. With restricted movements and social gatherings due to the onset of the pandemic, he came up with a distinct way to develop an app that can help other creative people. He went to YouTube and taught himself how to code for iOS, and just a year later, the app has over 106k users. The [nfluencer](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nfluencer/id1495283095) app is a spectacular tool for editing photos with ease and has dramatically impacted how photos are shared on digital platforms.
Akil believes that you can still use your innovative mind and create even amid the pandemic. He sees the pandemic as a gateway for more creative and innovative minds to create content and apps to change society from the comfort of your home. Everyone has a known or hidden talent, and through creativity and consistency, you can become successful even during tough times in the world.
