[Rrose Rrome](https://www.instagram.com/rroserrome/?hl=en) is the definition of a hustler, someone who goes out there and gets it by any means necessary. Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, the East Coast rapper creates from a real place, embodying what it means to be a real spitter. Each release is equipped with hard-hitting bars, a spitfire flow, and motivation for the people… telling his own story through his lyrics and rhymes.

The independent grind is not for the weak, but Rrose makes it happen on the daily. Most recently, he unleashed his [EP titled _Rose Gold Pre Pack_](https://open.spotify.com/album/12rrAauH8jHX7zNVzSVCwF)_,_ spearheaded by lead single [“G.T.B (Get The Bag)”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63bH39nNZGA) which recently received a video treatment. The 4-track body of work can is described as ““a healthy appetizer for streets,” in Rrose’s own words.

WIth his forthcoming album arriving in the fall, fans are waiting eagerly for that feel-good hip-hop that the rap game’s been missing. In fact, Rrose has a song with each member of The Lox, who recently went head to head with Dipset on the VERZUZ. On the fashion tip, Rrose has his own clothing and merch line called Rose Gold, aligning directly with his brand to give people their roses while they’re here.

Flaunt caught up with Rrose via Instagram Live, who was posted in the studio in New York. Read below as we discuss his new EP, shooting the visuals, the independent grind, having a song which each member of The Lox, collaborating with Chris Brown on “Draco,” his Rose Gold clothing line, needing a Rick Ross verse, and more!

**How are you holding up over there in New York?**

New York is lit right now. There was a big flood the other day, but we made it through. It was nasty for a little second but everything’s good, it’s going up and up.

**_Rose Gold Pre Pack_ EP out now, how are you feeling?**

4 tracks, 10 minutes long. Gritty New York shit. I got the vibe on there, go run it up. N\*ggas are fucking with it heavy. I want the world to know hip-hop is still alive. Indie artists are still outside, you feel me? It is what it is, we running it up. I’m happy to be here, I’m happy to have some new content. I have some videos out, “Check” video out right now. “G.T.B (Get The Bag)” video out now, we outside.

**Bring us back to when you recorded “CHECK.”**

“I rode around in the lamb wit a chop ! That’s one of my favorite joints right now. Shout out to my boy G Sparkz, he produced that one and a few others on the album coming this fall.

**How was it shooting the video with the Lamborghini?**

Yo listen, we riding around in a Lamb with a chop. That’s one of my favorite songs right now, Shout out to (?), he produced it and sent it to me. He’s working with Meek and a bunch of people right now so shout out to him. The video, my boy Counterpoint did that. We was in New York and pulled the Lambs out. We just went crazy, had a good time for the summer. That’s the first song on the _Pre Pack_. Definitely when you put the _Pre Pack_ on, that’s the first shit that’ll slap you. It’s a good song, it’s a lit song. Who doesn't like checks?

**What does it mean to “Get The Bag”?**

Shout out to my boy DJ Uneek, official New York City producer. He’s working with a bunch of people too. That’s #2 on the joint, I’m glad we’re going to order. The video is out, it's definitely a movie.

**Talk about the independent grind, and having to hustle to support your music career.**

Listen man at the end of the day, longevity-wise, I know I’ll get the prize. It’s been a long hard road but I’m not complaining. I’m a hustler, I’m a motivator. You gotta give people flowers that helped along the way, those that recognize the grind because it’s not easy doing it yourself. Build a strong support system and a strong team, it’ll go well. I ain’t knocking nothing man. “Check,” “Get The Bag,” _Pre Pack,_ ya dig! That’s how we coming.
**You say “it’s a healthy appetizer for the streets,” how so?**

Absolutely. Guess what? It’s just 4 tracks. I heated the summer up, now I have something coming. I have my first independent album, long-awaited. Got a lot of really nice features on there, got Jadakiss on there. That’s the a full album coming out this fall. I wanted the streets to have something to look forward to, so that’s what I did. We shook it up with the EP, we’re still pushing it. Still have one more video to shoot: “HELLCAT.” I might even come to LA for that video so I have to hit you up. That’s a vibe.

**Obviously, you have to have the hellcat in the video right?**

Absolutely, we might try to pull a few of them out. I love fast cars.

**I was with you watching The Lox vs Dipset VERZUZ. Talk about having a song with each member of The** **Lox.**

I used to record in D-Block’s studio for a few years straight, just going crazy. I got a chance to work with Sheek first, then Styles, then Kiss. They’re the big bros. Their studio wasn’t even open to the public. It’s their studio so them letting me come, work, and do my thing was lit. I’m happy to be a part of that history, to have worked with them all individually. Being from New York listening to them growing up, that was a lit situation for me. The “Ziplock” video should be coming soon. Everybody go into Jadakiss’ DMs right now and tell him to hurry up, we gotta get that video going. \[laughs\]

**Jada’s on his shit right now.**

Yeah yeah, he been on his shit. I ain’t mad at him. Give him all his flowers, give him all his roses.

**How did "Draco" freestyle with Chris Brown come about?**

That was something different. I’m in Platinum Studios right now, that’s where we did it at. It was another location, we did it in Midtown. It was New Years time, around top of January. My boy hit me from LA like “Chris Brown is in the studio, pull up.” I didn’t think it was gonna be him rapping and going crazy, but I pulled up. He heard some of my shit, jumped right on and there you have it. Turned It into a fucking “Draco” whatever diss. Y’all gotta go check it out, he’s actually dissing somebody who’s pretty lit right now. Google that, “Draco” by RRose RRome featuring Chris Brown to get that scoop. It’s definitely a good joint.

**What did you want people to take away from your story?**

There’s nothing wrong with being independent. Doing it yourself and building a strong team, working hard for what you want. Grinding man, never taking no for an answer. Know what you got to do. Invest in yourself, get your clothing line. If you like to dress, design a shirt. You want to fucking flip sneakers, get into that. At the end of the day, work hard, invest in yourself, and it’ll pop for you.

**When did you launch your Rose Gold clothing line?**

It started off as just merch, something to do to pass time, then it transformed into a full-blown clothing line. People are really wearing, they love it. From kids to females, it blew up. You could find it in sneaker stores, you can find it online. I’ll make deliveries myself if I have to. At the end of the day, it’s all about the roses. Being that roses are a big thing right now, it makes perfect sense for the climate of what’s going on. Rose Gold apparel for everybody.

**How would you describe your fashion sense?**

Urban, chic urban. I’d compare it to what Off-White’s doing, because we have hand-painted pieces and a few 1 of 1’s. It’s a little bit of couture… a hood couture.

**Anyone else you want to work with?**

Anybody that’s buzzing, if the chemistry is right. I’m all about chemistry really. I’m open to working with anybody as long as the chemistry’s right. As long as it’s some fire, I’m with it. We’ll lock in. Get some rolls and a few edibles, we’ll lock in.

**Do you feel like real hip-hop is hard to be seen nowadays?**

Almost, somewhat. There’s a secret society and those that know, know. When you want McDonald’s, you go to McDonald’s. When people want that real stuff, they know where to go. That’s where it’s at with that. I definitely feel like I’m in a race over here when it comes to the real authentic hip-hop, independent doing it that way.

**Anything else you want to let the people know?**

Run those numbers up, listen to the _Pre Pack._ Follow me on Instagram, subscribe, fuck with your boy. That @RoseGoldInc is the Instagram for the clothing line, tap in there and let’s get to it. Matter of fact, we need that Ross. We were supposed to tap in.

We spoke briefly, but let Ross know we need that 16.

**What do you like about Rick Ross?**

He’s authentic. I like his brand, we’re both double R. We both make the same vibe. I respect his hustle, he’s a hustler. Every day he’s hustling. I wouldn’t mind knocking out a joint with him, absolutely.

**What about LA, any West Coast artists you’re tapped in with?**

You know who I like? It’s funny you did something with him [recently, Mozzy.](https://youtu.be/SnI1SCjtmvQ) When I’m In LA, we gon’ definitely put it together and figure it out.
