What are the streets of Paris, if not teeming with buzzing crowds? Ami poses a summer of slowing down with its spring/summer 2025 assemblage, residing in a vacated building in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Catching the sunny lightheartedness that enfolds the city like a hug in the daytime, Ami’s collection is fresh, fluid and full. Emphasizing functionality—realistically, one wants to feel as light as a feather in the sticky summer heat—Ami dresses up to cool down, featuring lightweight tank tops, baggy jeans, high-waisted trousers and flowy skirts that emanate Parisian timelessness.

With clothes that look as if they too had laid out in the sun with the wearer, basking on a terrace’s edge or near the ocean, the designer deliberately uses desaturated tones in its summer palette. Ami's colors—havana, aubergine, loden and laurel amongst many others—sound like sisters gathered around a table for a summer soiree. Pale denim whispers an air of romanticism into the collection. Designed by creative director and founder Alexandre Mattiussi, Ami’s massively cuffed poplin shirts, light knits and logoless tote bags bark dog days to life. And there’s nothing that speaks the language of summer more than the tapping of a woman’s wedge heel atop cobblestone, which Ami picks like fruit in a myriad of colorways.

Amongst striped and checkered patterns is an outfit that commands attention like a bold red lip plastered upon a fair face. A cherry piece appears as sweet as candy on the runway, and paired with a wispy updo, it’s the convergence of work and play. Meanwhile, Ami doesn’t forget that refreshing, brisk breeze of summer nights that flips through the pages of summer reading or lifts the hairs of a lover: architectural oversized jackets drape across the shoulders of stars including Emma Roberts, Hunter Doohan, Ross Lynch and Selma Blair, who viewed the sunset show. Dipped in golden hour, Ami’s spring/summer 2025 collection imagines emptiness as a quiet corner on a Parisian street.
