At Milan Fashion Week, newly appointed creative director David Koma debuts Blumarine's Fall Winter 2025 collection, and in doing so demonstrates his unique ability to build new worlds within the Italian fashion house’s established universe. A new imagination is born in this show, one that remains devoted to the femininity and mysticism of Blumarine, yet brings a new dimensions to the brand. Inspired by Italian film heroines, Koma tells a story of romanticism and exoticism.

A rich color palette fills the runway, inclusive of deep reds against black, bright whites, and classic Blumarine details with colorful floral embellishments. The textures keep viewers engaged with the collection, where the use of delicate lace, shearling, scuba, denim, pleating, corsetry, and embroidery demonstrate Koma's ability to put textiles in conversation with one another amidst a vast design landscape. Each look coming down this runway is meticulously connected to those before it, yet somehow complete on its own, creating distinct characters that exist in Koma’s world of Italian heroines.

Garment silhouettes range from flowy and bohemian to highly structured, while fabrics lay asymmetrical and layered to provide volume and movement, breathing life into each look. This collection raises a new sophistication for the brand while maintaining Blumarine's playful nature, seen in denim looks featuring floral embroidery and mixed metal embellishments. Marc Goehring’s styling illuminates the details within each look, leaving nothing untouched. Every stitch is placed with the utmost intention, creating intense cohesion amongst the collection.

Other playful details include metal roses jumping across accessories from bags to belts to boots. The butterfly-shaped evening bag and the charm-filled shoulder bag show an ongoing dedication to youthfulness, while knee-high lace-up boots are sexy, chic, and modern, tying in themes of effortless Italian beauty. This refreshing collection takes Blumarine fluttering into an era of playful, feminine sophistication.
