This fall, Bottega Veneta is introducing its first fragrance collection. Inspired by Bottega Veneta’s origin city of Venice and crafted under the creative direction of Matthieu Blazy, the fragrance line explores Venice’s long-standing history as a hub of cross-cultural trade and encounter.

The collection pays homage to the house’s signature leather weave, the Intrecciato, through an aromatic blend of ingredients from different countries and continents. Colpo di Sole marries the tranquil notes of French Angelica oil from the Mediterranean with sensual orange blossom from Morocco. Fresh and elegant, Come with Me blends citrusy Italian bergamot with the powdery violet of French orris butter.

Reminiscent of summer escapades at the beach, Acqua Sale merges woody labdanum absolute from Spain with Macedonian juniper oil. Déjà Minuit weaves geranium from Madagascar with the spice of Guatemalan cardamom, creating a scent of sophistication and seduction. Meanwhile, Alchemie marries Brazilian pink pepper with myrrh from Somalia in an encounter of opulence.

Following the precedent set by the scents’ embodiment of the Veneto region and of the House’s unique artisanal heritage, the translucent glass bottle in which they are contained nods to the lagoon environment of Venice, as well as the supple leather shapes that first distinguished Bottega Veneta design. The bottles sit on a base of green Verde Saint Denis marble— the same marble that has characterized Blazy’s store designs. To top off the design, the bottle’s sculptural wooden cap nods to the foundations of Venetian palazzos, while the palette takes after that of modern Venetian design and architecture– creating a balanced story of global scents and design.
