Tommy Hilfiger’s latest designs took the brand’s nautical aesthetic to the sea itself. The Spring ‘25 collection was shown onboard the former Staten Island Ferry last weekend during New York Fashion Week.
Staying true to the brand's signature maritime aesthetic, the collection showcased archival regatta jackets, yacht shorts, and capri pants. Accessories such as neck-tie bandanas, hand-woven coastal slippers, and chunky rope monogrammed baseball caps complemented the nautical-inspired looks. The show's finale was headlined by Staten Island's own Wu-Tang Clan, entertaining special guests including Anna Wintour, singer Tinashe, and SNL's Colin Jost.
Among the attendees was actor Jackson White, best known for his roles in the Hulu drama series Tell Me Lies and the Prime Video show Mrs. Fletcher. White's performance as Stephen, the principal love interest for protagonist Lucy (played by Grace Van Patten) in Tell Me Lies, continues to captivate audiences with its swoonworthy appeal. The second season of the show premiered earlier this month on Hulu. White's minimalist Instagram profile is dominated by candids of Grace, his on-screen and real-life girlfriend, with the occasional gym selfie interspersed. Despite his preference for a "simple" social media presence, White has become one of the newest faces of Tommy Hilfiger.
The leading man shared insight into his personal style and his love for the Tommy Family.
How would you describe your personal style? What clothes make you feel the most confident?
If I want to feel confident, the looser the better. I’ve always been that way since I was a kid. I’m a really active person and I like clothes that let me do anything at any time. These days, I’ve been wearing some of my dad’s old clothes. He passed away this year and I have all of his amazing shoes and t-shirts… he had a Versace ski suit from the 90’s. Gotta find a time for that.
Throughout the years, how have you seen your personal style evolve?
I started playing music when I was a kid. So if you dig far enough, you’ll see me in a lot of skinny jeans and inventive haircuts. Now I’m just all about comfort and simplicity. I have a really loud personality sometimes. I find it’s better if I tone the clothes down and let my neurosis speak for itself. Also, I love a well fitted suit.
How does the Tommy Hilfiger ethos connect and complement your own style, values, and personality? Was there a piece (or pieces) from the Tommy Hilfiger show that you could see a part of your life?
This is exactly what I’m saying! I’m such a huge fan of Tommy. It’s classics, simple and totally speaks for itself. The jeans are perfect and the t-shirts make me feel like I’m in old Hollywood or something.
Having practiced different art forms such as music and acting, how have these come together to influence you? What have you taken away from each one?
Well, yea. Skinny jeans and studded belts were my safety blankets for a while there… but I’ve definitely always worn comfortable clothing for playing drums. Acting is rhythm anyway (to me), so I find that the two go hand in hand.
What was the most memorable moment from the Tommy Hilfiger Show?
Easy. Method Man fist bumped Anna Wintour during the Wu Tang set. Got a front row seat to that little moment.
Of the characters you have played, who has the best style? Why? Is there a character you’ve played whose style you surprisingly liked?
I’m just having a memory of being on the Sons of Anarchy set when I was a kid when my mom was working. I wanted to dress like Jax Teller so bad. Big white t-shirt and Air Force ones and lots of plaid. And a motorcycle.
Has social media affected your perception of personal style? How are you staying true to your own? Do you feel social media or trends have ever played a role in your style?
Social media can get really influential if you’re not careful. I try and stay simple on there and not let it become another addiction. I would watch TikTok for days if I had one.
How are you staying present these days?
I’ve been trying to read more. I play a lot of drums and hang with my dog and my girlfriend. My only goals were having a car and a dog growing up. So I’m doing pretty well. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
