The American West has historically enraptured explorers, luring settlers to its dry, arid regions with the promise of gold and prosperity. For Louis Vuitton’s latest collaboration with Timberland, creative director and all-around artist Pharrell Williams seeks to capture this allure. The new Men’s Workwear Capsule Collection derives influence from the styles of the American West, embodying the fusion of fashion and utility.

Adapting workwear codes to fit the more intricately crafted pieces dubbed “ready-to-wear,” Williams designed functional silhouettes for everyday use, including jacket and pant sets in earthy tones of jacquard. Leather appliques and turquoise-like embellishments accentuate the collection’s Western origins. Williams also imbues new accessories with functionality, adapting Louis Vuitton’s iconic Maison bag to create the Keepall 50 Toolbox, a leather duffle with exterior pockets and rivets.

The collection is grounded by Timberland’s signature boots, with some opulent additions. For the LV 6-inch shoe, Timberland’s Italian nubuck boots are adorned with an LV monogram embossment, also featured on the shoe’s eyelets and leather tag adornments. A slight departure from the LV 6-inch, the LV Boot is a magnified silhouette of the same design, sans laces. The pull-on, mid boots boast bag puller details and brown leather ankle cuffs for a more effortless feel.

Finally, in honor of the Louis Vuitton x Timberland collaboration, the fashion brands are releasing 50 editions of their LV 6-inch boot with a special twist. A bespoke version of the former, the “exceptional edition” of the LV 6-inch is embellished with 18 karat gold LV initials as well as signature eyelets and lace tips. The tongue of the boot is inscribed with the words, “the sun is shining on us,” a phrase Williams used in his debut show as Louis Vuitton’s creative director for menswear in 2023.
