Model Pat Cleveland’s storied career extends nearly five decades. She was the muse for artists like Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali, and she was dubbed “the first black supermodel” by former Vogue editor-at-large, André Leon Talley. Now, at 74-years-old, Cleveland along with her daughter Anna, are the faces of the latest collection from French fashion house, Roger Vivier.
Roger Vivier's Icons campaign derives influence from the avant-garde aesthetic of Paris fashion in the ‘60s. The mother-daughter pair are front and center in the collection’s retro-inspired images, wearing couture with radial stripe motifs and floral embroideries. The gold buckles on their pumps mirror the accents on their black and cream handbags.
Pat and Anna’s similar bone structure are accentuated by oversized, enamel jewelry pieces. Holistically, the line pays homage to Vivier’s previous designs.
“The 1960s marked a pivotal period for Roger Vivier, when his aesthetic shifted towards a more sleek, graphic, and pioneering design approach,” Gherardo Felloni, the creative director of Roger Vivier shares. “Reimagining the timeless creations of this era has long been my aspiration, and I sensed that the moment was right to reintroduce them in fresh, contemporary renditions this season.”
Founded in 1937, Roger Vivier was named for its creator, one of the most revolutionary high fashion designers of the 20th Century.
