French fashion house Givenchy announced British designer Sarah Burton as its new creative director earlier this week. In this role, Burton will oversee both women's and men's collections, drawing on her extensive experience as Alexander McQueen's creative director for over a decade.

“It is a jewel,” Burton says of Givenchy. “I am so excited to be able to write the next chapter in the story of this iconic house and to bring to Givenchy my own vision, sensibility and beliefs.”

Throughout her career, Burton has achieved numerous milestones within the fashion world. Her most notable accomplishment includes designing Kate Middleton's wedding dress for her marriage to William, Prince of Wales. In recognition of her contributions to British fashion, Burton was awarded an Order of the British Empire in 2012 and most recently received the Special Recognition Award at The Fashion Awards in 2023.

“Her remarkable career path and creative vision have already won her a vast fan base, and we are certain that under her direction, Givenchy will continue to innovate and captivate an extensive audience across the world stage,” Givenchy CEO Alessandro Valenti says.

Burton will present her first collection for the brand in March 2025.
