“Don’t crack under pressure.” No words are truer than for professional race car drivers hurling down a track at over 200 miles per hour, bearing the weight of competition and the intensity of a thousand eager spectators. When light, sound and color are enveloped by the potency of a razor-thin race, one can only be anchored down by the certainty of time.
It is only fitting that TAG Heuer, the official timekeeper of Formula 1, lives by the same mantra. The partnership embodies competitive creativity and powerful precision, underscoring time’s role in a field defined by fast-paced decisions. At the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix on March 16, TAG Heuer’s presence will permeate through the grandstands, trackside, broadcast and most notably — the pitlane clock.
Crafted with the same meticulous attention as a race car, these instruments feature fiberglass bezel, lightweight plexiglass dial and aluminum hands. At 47 inches in diameter, and equipped with high-visibility LED illumination, the clocks were designed to be seen. They will serve as the North Star for pit crews amidst the buzz of each event, integrated into Formula 1’s networked timing system and recalibrated before every race.
TAG Heuer also presents the Monaco clock, originally launched in 1968 and elevated for the Australian Grand Prix. Positioned in VIP hospitality zones and exclusive F1 lounges, the clock offers a three-side illuminated design that commands attention. Both of TAG Heuer’s strategic designs, coupled with the intoxicating spirit cultivated by Formula 1, promise attendees a larger-than-life sports experience.
