The [Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM](https://pamm.org)), is advancing the exchange of ideas through the appreciation of art, architecture and design in a diverse and accepting community. PAMM has just acquired 46 new artworks in a more than generous gift from Los Angeles based collector, scholar and advocate Gordon W. Bailey. The works in a variety of mediums include, drawings, paintings and sculptures. All but two of the 28 artists are new additions to PAMM’s collection making this a monumental donation and acquisition for the museum. PAMM is committed to giving underrepresented artists a platform to showcase their artwork; notable artists include artists Sam Doyle, Purvis Young, Thornton Dial, Herbert Singleton, Clementine Hunter, Sister Gertrude Morgan, Minnie Evans, Roy Ferdinand, Lonnie Holley, and Leroy Almon.
Bailey said in regards to his donation and PAMM as a place of artistic refuge: “The museum’s expanding collection reflects its vibrant home city, host of the internationally-acclaimed Miami Art Week and Art Basel Miami, and adds to its presence as a dynamic cultural center.”
**_What Carried Us Over: Gifts from Gordon W. Bailey_**, an exhibition organized by PAMM’s curatorial staff in conversation with Bailey, featuring selections from his gift, is planned for September 2019.
