In an aim to showcase the celebration of K-pop culture, MCM released their Spring/Summer 2025 collection “Under the Sea” at the third largest cathedral in the world, Piazza del Duomo. The showcase in itself featured K-pop artists Gotoe, Sean, Harry-June, and SUI, during "Dancing Duomo”, a flashmob presented by the SUNGJOO Foundation collection took place. The collection itself highlights three main themes: “Night Diving”, “Coral Mountain”, and “MCM Beach Club” while simultaneously sticking true to a seasonless nature with a variety of clothes designed to last. In the collection, you’ll find bags with coral detailing fueling the iconic MCM pattern, starfish, and underwater entities as accessories, and scales for pattern throughout. 

“From Munich to Mars” was an MCM galactic journey dating back to the Autumn/Winter 2024 collection and now has translated into further explorations. The German luxury brand is no stranger to off-land expeditions and proves to turn newfound treasures into liveable experiences through exciting pieces.

The collection opened in unison and firstly with “Night Diving”. Fishnets were drawn as inspiration and found their way in designs of cut bags matched with double-faced leather. Experience of a diver visionary experience rendered into diver-style zippers, and silhouette-conscious 3D Diamant bag turned crossbody. 

Secondary in the show was the theme of “Coral Mountain”. The use of graphics of Coral shined throughout the collection, reflecting MCM’s iconic design as well as leather bags, in particular, the Cognac Visetos clutch bags. Snake-skin patterns were taken on in the collection reflecting the Year of the Snake through Coronet patterns paired with thick belts alongside handbags. 

Lastly, the “MCM Beach Club” finished off the show by blending a timeless coastal charm with the, even more, timeless Lauretos Monogrammed Jacquard bags, topping off for a natural beachy feel. Vibrance coated this collection in specific with Palm tree graphics, and oceanic features throughout the garments. Varsity jackets and general apparel took it’s place within the realm of this theme alongside a final look at the newly dropped bikini tailor by the brand. 

The collection grants a transformative nature that follows throughout Modern Creation München ties to where heritage and wearable luxury can meet. Reinforcing the stance of the Korean-owned brand that greatly stands for “Seasonless, Made for movement, Ageless, Responsible, and Transformative” (SMART Luxury) is bound to continually push the boundary while setting the bar higher every time.
