In late July, the collaborative team behind Villa Carlotta unveiled new boutique space The James, nestled in the middle of Hollywood in close proximity to various storied historical spots like Hollywood Boulevard.

The space offers 73 distinctive units, ranging from studios to one bedrooms. The units feature natural lighting and original details, and uniquely showcase furnishings from local woodwork artisans, including accompanying classic seventies-style plush velvet sofas.

“We’re delighted to offer short and long-term residents luxury and upscale homes right in the heart of Hollywood,” remarked Gidi Cohen, Founder and CEO of CGI Real Estate Investment Strategies. “While appreciating the city’s beautiful past, residents will be able to enjoy impressive and modern amenities easily visiting other Los Angeles neighbourhoods.”

The building was originally designed in 1927 as a Mediterranean style hotel and dubbed the name “The Commodore of Hollywood” for its occupation of several famous Hollywood actors like Robert Vaughn and Matthew Boulton, and later the iconic rock band KISS.

The James is full of colorful history and immense architectural intricacies. The goal of the property is to evoke the atmosphere of a private members club, with collaborative areas scattered in the space to read, work, play games, and listen to vinyl.

“Our vision was to tap into the music scene of Hollywood and celebrate the incredible history of the industry here in Los Angeles while creating a community feel and home away from home for those in the creative industries,” said Creative Director Brian McGrory.
