On Wednesday we celebrated Benetton’s new pop up shop in Santa Monica with prosecco and polaroids. Benetton Group is one of the best-known fashion companies in the world with a network of about 5,000 stores and a headquarters in Ponzano Veneto. The brand is known for its bright colors, the revolution of the retail outlet, and their unique sales network.
The new collections embody both the old and the new, featuring an exciting fusion of its classic colorful style with its newer streetwear-inspired elements. The artistic direction of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, who is known for his iconic teddy bear coat worn by Madonna and portraits of Andy Warhol, shines through the recent collections. He recently united with the Benetton Group earlier this year, which was announced at Milan Fashion Week. He announced backstage that “The DNA of Benetton and mine have many similarities…this meeting between us is happening at the right moment, too, because this idea that desirable things can be of good quality and be affordable to many people is very interesting now…Benetton has been sleeping a little bit. But it has all this sleeping potential. And its base is very strong.”
