Luxury assumes a modern flair at Drift Palm Springs. The style-driven boutique hotel teeters between the modernity of downtown Palm Springs and Drift’s colorful commitment to the architecture, decor, and art of the Californian desert. Paying homage to their Baja roots, decor is sourced from artists of Mexican descent and California natives. The property has features like multi-room suites with kitchens and 84 guestrooms, alongside amenities like a cabana pool and a Mexican-inspired restaurant, Maleza. The stay is further elevated in character by the idyllic scenery, overlooking the San Jacinto Mountains.

Alongside Folklor, the Palm Springs-based boutique hotel was designed to mimic the beauty of the Spanish Colonial and Moorish desert architecture. WAKA-WAKA and Sean Spellman are among notable designers that contributed to selection of art and furniture displayed in the hotel’s many rooms. The interior is built from cedar and Italian brick, creating a museum-like backdrop for the gorgeous display of greenery and artwork.

The 30 suites and 9 studios range up to 1,629 square feet, providing optimal space for refined living and inspired relaxation. The suites are complete with gorgeous balconies and patio spaces, living rooms with full-sized kitchens, and Drift Pantries. Drift Pantries are stocked with locally sourced food, wine, and beer. When the kitchen has been exhausted, visitors have the option of joining Chef Ysaac Ramirez in partnership with Chef Jorge Espindola and Chef Cesar Pita of San José del Cabo-based Roots and Roads, at Maleza. The upscale eatery features a wrap-around bar with rare Mexican spirits and cocktails and an outdoor space that pushes for the indoor-outdoor narrative of the Drift Palm Springs. Whole Branzino with salsa verde, lemon, and herb salad, and the Baja Mussels with chorizo, cream, garleek and dill served with sourdough, are among many food items on the menu that bring in the brand’s origins.
