Los Angeles is sometimes best described as a fever dream. Sitting outside the local Thai restaurant, peanut noodles scarfed down by the mouthful, one can watch a cataclysmic sequence of events unfold. A seagull swoops down and grabs a cold pizza from the asphalt. 80s music blasts from the speakers of a nearby motorcycle. And in a true feat of technological accomplishment, a self-driving snack delivery cart bumbles over cracked sidewalks to deliver chips to an awaiting hungry television writer.

If autonomous food cyborgs are the future of technology in LA, across the country, hotel goers are launching above and beyond sidewalks in New York City. In collaboration with Blade, an urban air mobility company, Luxury Group—Marriott International’s portfolio of hotel brands such as The Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, EDITION, The Luxury Collection, JW Marriott, and W Hotels—offers a first-of-its-kind helicopter service.

The St. Regis New York, 5th Avenue Suite

Until September 2, eligible guests staying two nights or more in select suites at St. Regis New York, JW Marriott Essex House New York, W New York Union Square, New York EDITION, Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, and Luxury Collection Hotel Manhattan Midtown can receive complimentary roundtrip helicopter transfers from the John F. Kennedy and Newark Liberty international airports. These “Sky to Suite” transfers boast panoramic views of the city and access to any New Yorker’s elusive desire: stepping foot in Manhattan in less than five minutes. Meanwhile, guests are also presented with exclusive rates for Blade Airport and Ground Connect car transfers to ride from the Blade helipad to their hotels.

With the goal of allowing visitors to float above city traffic and weave with leisure in the clouds, Luxury Group’s partnership with Blade aims to take guests over the tips of skyscrapers and technologically elevate the hotel experience. Luxury Group also offers patrons pop-up amenities at Blade Lounges West and East in addition to the helicopter service. Luxury Group and Blade’s partnership is a new take on client service and helicopter-fueled hospitality: the literal heights of luxury.
