A booming coastal city on the Balearic Sea, Barcelona remains a Spanish hub of culture and innovation. For the next week and a half, the Catalonian capital will host a fitting collaboration between luxury fashion brand Prada and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Ocean&Climate Village in Barcelona, a traveling, immersive scientific exhibition curated by the collaborators, will be on display at Port Olímpic in Barcelona’s La Plata neighborhood. The exhibition is designed for all ages to learn about the connections between the ocean and global climate.

Multimedia elements including infographics, photographs and tactile experiences within the exhibition illuminate the role the ocean plays in regulating the Earth's climate. Ocean&Climate Village explores various lessons within the fields of marine and climate science including the dynamics of marine biodiversity and the challenges posed by ocean acidification and sea-level rise.

While previous renditions of Ocean&Climate Village have been shown in Milan, Venice, Naples and Qingdao, this year the exhibition coincides with the 37th America’s Cup, one of the foremost regatta races in the world. This special edition of the Ocean&Climate Village is presented as part of a partnership between UNESCO and the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team. The partnership is symbolized by the inclusion of the UNESCO and SEA BEYOND logos on the mainsail of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli boat, highlighting a shared commitment to protecting our ocean and raising awareness on ocean literacy along one of the most prestigious sporting competitions in the world.

Prada and UNESCO’s Ocean&Climate Village exhibition will remain on display in Barcelona until October 4.
