Last Friday, Flaunt attended a special collaboration dinner between Resident, a culinary platform connecting guests with the faces behind the food from the best restaurants in New York City, and the Jacques Pépin Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving lives through culinary education. The evening celebrated Chef Owen L’Aquila, whose prior chef-work includes restaurants like Marea and Carbone, and his contribution to the newly launched Volume 5 of Cook with Jacques Pépin & Friends, a Video Recipe Book available to Jacques Pépin Foundation members. We were able to try his featured recipe Quenelles of Bacala and can say it is something out of this world.

Events of this sort are offered by Resident on a monthly basis, each event designed to be an unforgettable and unique culinary experience. Hosted in elite real estate buildings across New York City, their February and March lineup of events will feature chefs from Michelin-starred kitchens such as Dominik Lee, from Alinea, Blue Hill at Stone Barns, and Alligator Pear, Julien Castillo, previously The Clocktower and Llama Inn, Tara Khattar, known for L’Atelier of Joël Robuchon and La Bastide de Sainte Antoine, Siya Wang from Le Bernardin, and many more.

Offering special dinner collections for Black History Month, Dominican Independence Day, Women’s History Month, and the launch of its new Aprés Ski-themed cocktail party-style event,  the mission of the platform is to empower the culinary community by providing unique opportunities for growth, while having the creative flexibility and empowerment to build their personal brand.

Having been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Food & Wine, Crain's, and more, today Resident works with hundreds of chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists, all with experience at the world's best restaurants, providing the best of the best culinary experience.
