California winery Sonoma-Cutrer has introduced Simply Cutrer, the winemaker's first time offering their cultivated chardonnay in a canned design, allowing for the elegance of their Northern California creation to be enjoyed on any occasion. From the winery ranked at the top of Most Requested Chardonnay in Wine & Spirits Annual Restaurant Poll, Simply-Cutrer basks in citrus flavors such as nectarine, melon, and peach, all fruit sourced from California to round out the Californian nature of the brand that has spearheaded the tastemaking of Chardonnay for over 30 years. 

On the creation of Simply Cutrer, Chardonnay Winemaker Cara Morrison said “I’m excited for consumers to finally have a wine option like Simply Cutrer that combines the complex, high-quality wine that our fans have come to expect with the ease of can that’s perfect for sharing. Simply Cutrer was made with summer sipping in mind, and I hope that these cans help open the minds of consumers to just how versatile chardonnay wine can be for any situation, from picnics to beach days to backyard barbecues.”

Carrying on with the excitement of the Simply Cutrer launch, Sonoma-Cutrer also debuts their Dutton Ranch Chardonnay as a part of their annual Winemaker’s Release series, a series of wines that features the brand’s devotion and appreciation of wine artisanship and detailed production. A historic grower-partner of Sonoma-Cutrer, Dutton Ranch has accumulated a pristine reputation for their Chardonnay fruit and has been invited by the winery as the first delegated grower to be featured in the series. The Dutton family has been working on the land of Sonoma County since the 1880s, and today farms about 1,200 acres of sustainable wine grapes across Russian River Valley, Green Valley, and the Sonoma Coast. The grapes that makeup Dutton Ranch Chardonnay were harvested in late September, whole-cluster pressed, and aged sur-lies in French oak. The result is flavors of peach and oak spice with notes of citrus acid and baked apple scents. 

In celebration of the Simply Cutrer and Dutton Ranch Chardonnay, Sonoma-Cutrer held an intimate tasting complete with hors d’oeuvres and sunset views of Los Angeles at The Aster’s South Deck.
