When it comes to her sound, she injects emotion and honesty into her smooth, sultry, pop ballads — inspired by years of exploration. From learning how to play guitar at age 8 to writing her first song at 13, the rising singer-songwriter has been consistently putting in the work, finally reaching a place where she can release her debut EP titled Ventura. To hold fans over, Valdés releases her debut single titled “Little Did I Know,” exclusively on Flaunt. The track unveils a deeper connection to her heritage, putting an emphasis on the power behind self-acceptance.  Speaking exclusively on the track, Sofia states, “This song means looking back at something that was super toxic — once you’re out of it and realize how lucky you are to not be in that situation anymore.” Originally writing the record, Sofia had no intentions of shooting a music video. But after playing with lights and layering the videos on her computer, she found the joy in doing things DIY and getting creative with the resources she had. The final visual only took 2 days to finish, shot and edited in her home in Panama during quarantine with her good friend. The result is a series of intimate self-portraits that match the warmth and simplicity of the song.
